Great Event: San Diego Comic Con
If you’ve seen some Ewoks or Wonder Woman lyrca-strapped ladies pass by you in the LA and OC area lately, it’s probably because it’s Comic Con. The massive international event has been gathering fan boys, geeks, gaming/comic/film/science fiction/anime/cosplay enthusiasts for years and San Diego is ripe again for another round as the epicenter of global pop-culture fandom.
Taking place over the course of this weekend at the San Diego Convention Center, the show offers a host of opportunities to conference goers outside of wearing intensely intricate DIY costumes. Many production studios give fans sneak peeks at upcoming trailers, like they did with the new Spider Man film at yesterday’s event, as well as let attendees test out the latest games, meet their comic book heroes and just about everything else you can possible dream up. Bottom line, it’s pretty cool.
I’ll be heading down to the ‘Con’ as they call it, tonight, to see if I can find the girl dressed as SyFy channel’s ridiculously entertaining film, ‘Sharknado.’ Check it out here. It doesn’t get much greater than that.
